Usage Guide

Choosing a Starting Size

Most people begin with Step 1 — the smallest dilator — regardless of prior experience. A good starting size is one you can insert with mild pressure but without sharp pain. If Step 1 feels too large, stop and consult a pelvic floor physical therapist or your healthcare provider before continuing. There is no benefit to rushing; beginning smaller and progressing gradually is always safer.

Gradual Progression

Move to the next size only when the current size can be used comfortably for your full session with little to no discomfort — typically after several consistent sessions at the same size. Progress is individual and non-linear; some people stay at one step for weeks, and that is normal. Skipping sizes is not recommended.

Managing Discomfort — When to Stop or Back Down

A mild sense of stretching or pressure is expected and generally resolves as muscles relax. Stop immediately if you experience:

• Sharp, stabbing, or burning pain
• Bleeding or spotting
• Muscle spasms that do not release
• Pain that persists more than a few minutes after removing the dilator

If any of the above occur, return to the previous (smaller) size or pause use entirely until you have spoken with your healthcare provider. Pushing through sharp pain can be counterproductive.

Cleaning & Care

Clean each dilator before and after every use:

• Wash with warm water and mild, unscented soap; rinse thoroughly.
• For a deeper clean, boil for 3–5 minutes or run through the top rack of a dishwasher (no heated dry).
• Do not use alcohol, bleach, or oil-based cleaners on silicone.
• Allow to air-dry completely before storing. Keep dilators stored separately to prevent surface contact that may attract lint.
• Use only water-based lubricant with silicone dilators; silicone-based lubricants can degrade the material over time.
